Congratulations to the UC Berkeley Putnam Competition Team of Indraneel Kasmalkar, Shiyu Li and Qingyun Wu for their Honorable Mention finish in the 2013 William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition. (The UC Berkeley team finished in 6th place out of 430 teams.) Indraneel Kasmalkar also earned Honorable Mention honors in the individual competition. Other UC Berkeley students finishing in the top 200 (out of 4113 competitors): Justin Ahmann, Benjamin Breen, Weiqiao Han, Shiyu Li, Patrick Lutz, Henry Maltby, Logan Stokols, Qingyun Wu, and Albert Zhang.
Professor Zworski will be honored at the 8th annual Graduate Mentoring Awards Ceremony, on April 15th.
The workshop "Free Probability and the Large N Limit IV" will be held in Evans Hall March 25-29, 2014.
